From the Refugio Cochamó’s (bed & breakfast) centric location, visitors, hikers and climbers can take in excellent views of the surrounding valley – granite walls, waterfalls, rivers and amazing forest – making it an ideal base to venture off from to hike, climb, spend a beach day at the river and fish. The Refugio Cochamó offers comfortable private rooms, a shared bunk room, home-cooked meals, hot showers, shared kitchen and clean bathrooms.
The hosts, Silvina and her husband Daniel, hiked into the valley to climb the 1000-meter walls in 2000, fell in love with this remote paradise and soon after built and opened this bed and breakfast. Today they, along with their 14-year-old son Zen, nature-loving friends operate the refugio together with the their friends from Southern Trips and Mahuida Patagonia.

- Private family room (max 4 people) has a queen-size bed, and two bunk beds.
- Bunk room has very comfortable cushions and an excellent view of big granite wall Cerro La Junta.
The kitchen offers a variety of home-made meals. Your guides will prepare all your meals daily. Also, there’s a shared kitchen with a gas stove, cookware, dishes, utensils and sink where you can cook. No matter your plans for eating, its a good idea to always pack snacks. Food and services are exclusive for guests only.
How to reserve
The Refugio Cochamó now operates exclusively via the guided services offered by Southern Trips and Mahuida Patagonia. These include lodging at the Refugio Cochamó, all meals, horses and personal guiding on the valley´s peaks or granite valley trails. It is no longer possible to book only a bed in the refugio.
