Saludos!

cochamó round trail?

mensaje de Jamie

Greetings friends! A friend and I are hoping to do a long backpacking trip out of Cochamó. I read about a 6-10 day trip that passes through La Junta, El Arco, Lake Vidal Gormaz, Lake Tagua Tagua, and return to Cochamo by Puelo. Does anyone have more info on this route and how well maintained the trails are? Also can we buy maps in the valley or should we buy those before? Many thanks in advance! cheers

Hello Cochamo!

mensaje de Ryan

My name is Ryan from Yosemite. I plan on spending most of January in Cochamo and will be camping at La Junta. I have a gigantic blue backpack with a 60m rope and double set of cams with a #4 and #5. Alpine and Bigwall experience, can lead 5.11 and aid climb. Sings at belays, whistles while hiking, jumps in puddles, and love to adventure! I also like long complex approaches and thought provoking conversation when abseiling! Looking to adventure and fish on rainy days. See you soon!

Re: Hello Cochamo!

mensaje de Bill Kinter

Hello Ryan from Yosemite, it’s Bill from Colorado! I’m flying into Pucon in a few days and will be around Cochamo through January. I’m bringing a 70m and doubles .3-3. Leaving the big gear at home. I’m comfortable leading up to 10- or higher depending on pro. I’m currently looking to go cragging with my travel buddy, but I’d love to get up some bigger walls with ya.

I'm traveling solo and looking for climbing partners for January. I have lots of experience in multi pitching and comfortable with alpine setting. I can lead 5.11, and 5.12 depending on the style of climbing. I also have lots of moderate classics that I would love to get on!

Climbing Partner February 2017

mensaje de Sebastian Paniagua

Looking to be in Cochamo in February and wanting to do some climbing. I am looking to follow. Most of my experience is in Joshua Tree, California. Also looking for connections for a guide if I can not find a partner. I am not sure what gear I may be bringing. What are the most commonly used sizes in Cochamo? Possibly looking to do some sport climbing as well.

Climbing partner in Cochamo (January/February)

mensaje de Neha

Hello - I will be in Cochamo Valley for January and part of February. Looking for some people to rope up with. Will lead up to 10+ and experienced in the mountains. Flexible in terms of objectives but you must be a safe partner with a solid head game. Will be traveling with a full single rack and 60m rope. Still sorting out the logistics, but send me an email or comment if you're interested in linking up!

Partners for this winter

mensaje de Teddy Malley

Thinking of coming down to cochamo to climb for a few months around the beginning of January (2018). Anyone looking for a partner/team member to climb some of the 5 star routes and maybe try to put up some new ones? I have a little experience with route development and a good bit of experience on grade 4 climbs to 5.11.

Hi Teddy, I also will be in Cochamo beginning of Jan (around 5th) and staying there for a month. I'm looking for a climbing parter to get on moderate classics and some harder routes if I can find a parter. I lead 5.11, and 5.12 depending on the style (crack and corner systems are my style). Let me know if you'd be interested.
